[Korea] Notice on Customs Clearance for Medical Devices for Personal Use

Hello.
As of January 1, 2019, the customs clearance policy for personal medical devices imported for personal use has been strengthened, and we would like to inform you accordingly.
Previously, medical devices for personal use could be cleared without any special requirements, but from 2019 onward, requirements are also needed even for personal use.
This applies to common medical devices such as ear infrared thermometers, electronic blood glucose/blood pressure monitors, and CPAP machines, so please take care in your 업무.
For customs clearance for personal use, the following procedure is required to be exempt from requirements.
Issuing authority for the exemption confirmation: Korea Medical Device Safety Information Institute (NIDS)

Required documents when submitting an exemption confirmation to the Korea Medical Device Safety Information Institute
- Application form (if you need a form, please make a separate inquiry via 1:1 inquiry)
- A doctor's opinion letter and diagnosis certificate stating the product name and that it may be used
