[Korea] Notice on Restrictions for Post Office Parcel Handling of Long Items (e.g., golf clubs, baseball bats, umbrellas)

Hello,
Following the Post Office parcel rate increase last September, delivery costs have risen, and overall shipping rates are expected to continue increasing in line with ongoing improvements to parcel operations.
As part of this policy trend, we are issuing this notice regarding changes to the acceptance standards for Post Office parcels.
Recently, the Post Office has reportedly applied stricter standards to parcel acceptance limits and introduced additional charges, especially for long items such as golf clubs and fishing rods, where one side is long.
Previously, boxes with one side exceeding 100 cm, such as golf clubs and baseball bats, were already subject to Post Office acceptance limits, but they were still accepted and delivered via Post Office parcel service because the actual weight was not very high.
However, GSI has been bearing significant monthly costs for such items by paying additional per-item charges in the future.
Due to handling difficulties with these long items, such as getting caught on curved conveyor sections inside the Post Office logistics center, the Post Office has raised the acceptance restriction and the additional fee applied at the time of acceptance.
As a result, for parcels released after customs clearance, the Post Office will not accept items exceeding 100 cm in one side at the time of pickup.
(Acceptance may be possible upon a separate request with an additional fee, but in practice it is not possible to distinguish.)

As noted above, GOLF CLUBS, baseball equipment, fishing equipment, and other long items with one side exceeding 100 cm cannot be shipped via Post Office parcel service. These items are planned to be delivered through freight courier services such as Daesin Express, so please use this information for your work.
Items that were not previously classified as freight parcels will also be classified as freight parcels, so customers ordering such items are asked to keep this in mind when using the service.
