We are providing this notice regarding an official directive related to the amendment to the Notice on Import Customs Clearance Procedures.
The main details are as follows.
- Adjustment of payer information for imported foreign e-commerce goods
Previously, foreigners could clear customs using a passport number. However, after the effective date below (based on the vessel arrival date), foreigners importing e-commerce products must obtain a Customs Clearance Code and clear customs using that code.
Only personal gift items may continue to be cleared using a passport number.

◆ Amendment to express cargo customs clearance
1. Required payer information for foreigners importing e-commerce goods
① Before: Passport number could be entered
② After: Only a foreigner’s Personal Customs Clearance Code is allowed
③ Effective date: '24.10.01 (Tue) 00:00
1. The implementation is scheduled to apply to import declarations made from 24.12.1 onward. (To avoid confusion, a supplementary provision stating that it applies from December 1 will be added.)
2. The mandatory entry of the Customs Clearance Code applies only to e-commerce goods. For goods traded between individuals, passport numbers and other information may continue to be entered as before.
